Ares L. Hamm

December 8th, 2023 – January 10th, 2024

Ares Lee Hamm passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on December 8, 2023 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Joseph “Joey” and Sarah (Renken) Hamm.

Ares is survived by his parents of Vermont, Illinois, his sister Mary Hamm of Vermont, four brothers; Everett Schoonover of Belvidere, Illinois, Titus Hamm, Octavius Hamm, and his twin brother Achilles Hamm, all of Vermont, Grandparents Heidi Renken of Washburn, Illinois, John Renken, Mary Beth Hamm of Vermont, J.R. Henderson of Canton, Illinois, and Bob and Penny Campbell of the state of Georgia, Great-Grandparents Tom and Teresa Weiss of Sebring, Florida, and Glenn Hamm of East Peoria, Illinois, and Great-Grandmother Beverly (Murray) McKenna of Havana, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandmother Debbie Hamm, and his Great-Great-Grandparents Naomi and Albert Weiss, Lorna and Roy Morgan, Russell Hamm and Thornton and Mary Lillie.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Ares' Life will be held at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dear Hamm Family, I don't know you, but a Facebook friend shared Ares' obituary ...and it saddened me greatly. My wife and I had two very tiny micro preemies (both of whom survived ...two different pregnancies). Many months in hospitals. I hurt so much for you. I am also a pastor in Avon IL.
